More scientific interest in gut flora

I’m running across more articles in which the medical community is showing interest in gut flora as related to IBD. There seems to be more scientists willing to suppose that the balance of gut flora is critically important as a function of disease.

This article from BBC Health cites a study by French team studying the link between low levels of the bacteria Faecalibacterium prausnitzii and Crohn’s disease.

Perhaps the SCD will see mainstream acceptance in my lifetime?

I hope so.
