SCD Study Looking for Volunteers

UPDATE March 12, 2011: The study has recruited all the SCDers it can handle and is no longer seeking volunteers on the SCD. However, they could use more people not on the diet. So if you know someone not on the diet who is willing to help out, send them to this post. Thanks.

“Rush University Medical Center’s Department of Gastroenterology is conducting a study to determine if the Specific Carbohydrate Diet changes the population of microbes in the gastrointestinal tract.”

I am very excited that a well-respected university is pursuing this study. Participation is easy, non-invasive and can be done from your home. Download this PDF for complete details.

I have already participated in a preliminary run-through of the study to help work out the protocol. I’m hoping you can help too. The study is recruiting 200 subjects: 100 on the SCD and 100 not on the SCD.
