Crohnology: interesting new IBD social site

Thanks to Ryan Jordan on Facebook, I just became aware of a new IBD social site called “Crohnology“. It touts itself as “The Crohn’s & Colitis Patient-to-Patient Information Sharing Platform.”

The founder, Sean Ahrens has Crohn’s and is using the SCD, but the site is not limited to non-traditional treatments. It looks interesting so I signed up for the private beta.

    Paul,

Thanks so much for telling your readers about Crohnology.com. I’m working day and night programming the thing, and my goal is to make a structured place for us people with Crohn’s & Colitis to share what has worked, so we can really know the truth. There are elements that allow users to meet other people around them and get social support, and track their health throughout time as well. And ultimately, it’s about knowledge sharing.

I’ve had Crohn’s since age 12, and have tried a lot of traditional and alternative treatments. I just think it’s about time that there was a structured way to share what has worked with others so people don’t have to start from scratch when they are diagnosed. And maybe this structured knowledge sharing will eventually lead to a cure.

I’m still testing it, but I’ll send you an invite today. Thanks again, man! And see you on the site!

    Cheers,
    Sean
